Nebraska Volleyball Team Prepares for Spring Match Against Wichita State
The Nebraska volleyball team is gearing up for its spring match against Wichita State, which will take place on Saturday at Central City High School. The team will likely be back to a traditional one-setter offense this fall, which means either freshman setter Bergen Reilly or Kennedi Orr will get the chance to run the Husker offense. Orr has been training extensively this spring after dealing with a previous knee injury, while Reilly joined the team in January as the No. 1 setter recruit in the nation.
Creighton Scrimmage and Competitive Practices
The team recently played Creighton in a closed-to-the-public scrimmage, which was a nice way to break up a longer spring practice than most years. The scrimmage was high-level, and both lineups did really well. Practices have remained competitive, with one of the highlights being an out-of-system kill by Murray. Lindsay Krause has played her natural outside hitter position this spring, which is what Coach Cook told her would happen.
Excitement for Spring Barnstorming Tour
Coach Cook is excited to take the team to a smaller city to play a spring match again. Other past stops on Nebraska’s spring barnstorming tour have included Ogallala, McCook, and Wayne. All five freshmen graduated from high school to start training with the Huskers, including Murray, who says she loves the volleyball and the atmosphere and is looking forward to a fun season.
Overall, the Nebraska volleyball team is preparing for an exciting spring match against Wichita State, with the team likely returning to a traditional one-setter offense. The team has been practicing competitively, with highlights including an out-of-system kill by Murray and Krause playing her natural outside hitter position. Coach Cook is also excited to take the team on a spring barnstorming tour to smaller cities.
